Expert Witness

Get expert testimony, depositions, and findings on digital accessibility from a team that has tested technology with people with disabilities since 2002.

Equal Entry serves as an accessibility expert witness. We have provided expert testimony, depositions, and findings for several Federal and State District courts. We bring the deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise a court needs to understand whether a website, app, kiosk, or virtual world works for people with disabilities.

We have worked with plaintiffs and defendants with the common goal of making tech more accessible. Let us work with you.

Thomas Logan, expert witness

Thomas Logan, the owner of Equal Entry, has spent more than twenty years helping organizations create technology that works for people with disabilities. He has produced evidence for numerous legal cases and served as an expert witness in cases requiring an understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act. His expertise focuses on whether technology technically meets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

His expert witness engagements include:

  • National Association of the Deaf v. Sirius XM (2023 to 2025)
  • Dylan Panarra v. HTC Corp (2020), Case 6:20-cv-06991
  • Yazmin Reyazuddin v. Montgomery County, Maryland, testimony at bench trial (2017)

Thomas has also presented at international and national conferences on accessible technology and accessibility law. Read Thomas Logan's full CV.

Prior engagements

Retail accessibility

We served as experts on Gil v. Winn-Dixie. It addressed the question of whether websites are considered "places of public accommodation" under Title III of the ADA, and thus required to be accessible to individuals with disabilities. In 2017, a federal judge in Florida ruled in favor of Gil, marking the first trial verdict under the ADA concerning website accessibility.

Map accessibility

We worked on a case involving digital map accessibility for the world's most widely used map platforms including Google Maps, eSRI, and arcGIS.

Virtual reality accessibility

We worked on a case about how captions can be applied to spatial media such as virtual reality.

On the left side is a conference room with a “SPEAKER PODIUM” at the front and “AUDIENCE” seating arranged in rows. In the center, there are two “SHELVES” labeled areas and a “CONFERENCE ENTRANCE” leading to the conference room. To the right, there’s a “CONVENIENCE STORE ENTRANCE” and a seating area with round tables. Adjacent to this is a “VR RESEARCH EVENT ENTRANCE” and a “LOUNGE” with couches and a table.
