On June 5, 2018, Accessibility NYC hosted a meetup entitled “Understanding Transportation Challenges for People With Disabilities in NYC.” Presenter Jessica Murray, doctoral student in developmental psychology and a fellow for the Futures Initiative at The Graduate Center, CUNY, shared data from the qualitative research and feasibility study she has conducted on the complications disabled riders face on the city’s subway system. She presented examples of both the technical and psychological challenges of the current transit system while highlighting the future of advocacy work in NYC.
